Intro

Thanks again for the feedback. This issue will be a bit longer than the other ones, but all the reading is a small price for the enlightenment.

Verse: Delilah in Concert

Delilah Monroe was known as a very unusual Daughter of Cacophony because of her very own style. One would rather take her for a Brujah than a Siren. She had no less than 30 facial piercings and a bleached mohawk. Her voice was entrancing even though she was no opera singer. Punk was her genre. Many Toreador were intriged by this, although none of them had ever gone to one of her concerts. The main reason for this was that Delilah’s punk band only performed in alleys and in pubs, places a self-respecting Toreador would never visit.

Leopold, a young Toreador, was determined to attend one of Delilah’s concerts. He had heard so much about her and he wanted to meet her more than anything else, even if that included him going to shabby, dirty places. Like every decent member of his clan, he wrote her a letter. Delilah was very pleased, not to say flattered, with the letter and sent him a first row ticket. He would be expected tomorrow at 9 PM in “The Black Unicorn” in suitable outfit.

Suitable outfit? What did she mean by that? He didn’t have any clue so he just wore his best tuxedo. He ordered a limo and had to wait for another 5 minutes when the driver arrived.

“Do you know where “The Black Unicorn” is?”.

“Yes, are you sure you wanna go there dressed like that?”

“Hey, it’s my money, just take me there!”

“Whatever you say.”

Ten minutes later the driver parked the car in front of a sleazy bar. Leopold paid the man and got out. He saw a big line of punks waiting at the front door. They all looked at him. Not intimidated, he just walked over to the door and was about to enter when he was stopped by one of the bouncers.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“I’m here for Miss Monroe.”, he said while showing his invitation and ticket.

“Oh, you must be Leopold. Follow me.”

The bouncer led him to a crooked table next to the stage.

“Please, sit down. The manager will soon join you at your table.”

To be continued ..

Art’s Traumatic Essence VS Mind Numb

Art’s Traumatic Essence
Action
Auspex/Melpominee

+1 stealth action
[aus]: Tap any untapped minion.
[mel]: Tap any untapped minion, and that minion burns 1 blood or life.
[MEL]: Put this card on any ready untapped minion and tap that minion. This minion burns 1 blood or life each time he or she takes an action or blocks. During his or her master phase, the controller of this minion may tap this minion and burn a pool to burn this card. A minion may have only one Art’s Traumatic Essence.

Mind Numb
Action
Presence
1 Blood
[pre]: (D) Put this card on any untapped vampire. Tap that vampire; he or she does not untap during his or her controller’s untap phase. Burn this card during your next untap phase.
[PRE]: As above, with +1 stealth.

I’ll refer to them as ATE (Art’s Traumatic Essence) and MN (Mind Numb).

10 thoughts about ATE and MN in a DoC-deck.

  1. ATE is free <> MN costs a blood
  2. Muse can’t play MN.
  3. ATE burns a blood or life at inferior.
  4. MN keeps the victim tapped during your next turn.
  5. You only need inferior Presence for the great effect of MN.
  6. MN is better in a heavy bleed deck..
  7. Only one DoC has superior Presence and thus the inherent stealth of MN.
  8. ATE is always at stealth.
  9. ATE mixes well with Toreador.
  10. ATE at inferior can be better sometimes than at superior unlike MN.

Conclusion:

  • DoC : ATE only
  • DoC + (!)Toreador: ATE & MN
  • DoC + anything else with Presence: MN only

Bridge

Muse
Daughters of Cacophony
Capacity 3
ani for mel
Sabbat. -1 intercept.

Ok let’s take a look at what seems to be very crappy at first sight.

I’ll compare her to the other DoC so we get an idea if she’s any good.

  • Angela & Céleste have a normal spread of disciplines for their capacity + a special and a drawback which balances them out.
  • Delilah has 2 basics and 1 superior which is not normal for a 4-cap which explains the drawback
  • Gäel has 2 superiors and 2 basics like many other 6-caps, but she has a small disadvantage, nothing serious though.
  • Muse, a 3-cap, has 3 basics so she has to pay for her inferior animalism with –1 intercept, the worst drawback of all the DoC.

It doesn’t stop here for our poor Muse, she also has no Presence, which is the most important thing a DoC has to have!

Now let’s take a look at the good things about Muse:

  • She is totally disposable! If she gets burnt after diablerizing or playing a Siren’s Lure keep 3 words in mind: No Big Loss.
  • She adds another vote to your Bastille Opera House.
  • She is Sabbat so she can become Archbishop or even Cardinal ( only 4 skill cards needed )
  • She has Animalism and thus mixes very good with the Ahrimane ( see next issue ).

So forget about the -1 intercept, besides what can you expect from someone who is wearing a blindfold. Give her a chance!
